Staff Backend Engineer (Ledger & Settlement)

We are looking for a Staff Backend Engineer to build the core custody ledger and settlement services that everything else depends on. You will implement high-integrity transaction flows, audit trails, and integrations that can survive regulator and bank scrutiny.

Build the Core Ledger: account model, balances, postings, reconciliation hooks, idempotency, and audit logs.

Settlement & Transfer Flows: custody movements, brokerage execution records, and rail-ready primitives.

Integrations: banks/PSPs, KYT/screening providers, and internal services via clean APIs.
REQ_XX
Reliability Engineering: timeouts, retries, backpressure, observability, and incident-resilient design.
REQ_XX
Data Model Discipline: canonical vs projection layers, outbox/eventing patterns, strong migrations.
REQ_XX
Security-by-Default: access control, encryption, key management integration, and least privilege.

REQ_XX
Experience: 8+ Years Experience building backend systems (payments/ledger/high-integrity systems preferred).
REQ_XX
Strong Architecture Skills: event-driven patterns, consistency tradeoffs, and auditability.
REQ_XX
Performance Mindset: low-latency APIs with high throughput and safe failure modes.
REQ_XX
Operational Ownership: on-call maturity, logging, metrics, and post-mortems.

Strong Engineering Taste: simple designs that scale and stay maintainable.
